Open the cash register
1Open Cash register and tap Open the cash register.
2In Starting cash, enter the money in the drawer for giving change. Zero works too.
3Tap Open the cash register.
During the shift, Expected in the drawer tells you how much cash there should be: the starting cash, plus what was collected in cash, minus what was refunded and paid out of the drawer. Card payments don’t count toward it.
Close the cash register
1Tap Close the cash register.
2In How the drawer was counted, choose Bill by bill or One figure, and enter what you counted.
3Read the message: The count matches the expected amount., or how much is short or over.
4If it doesn’t match, explain what happened in Why the count differs (at least 20 characters).
5Tap Close the cash register.
I made a mistake counting. Can it be fixed?
Yes. The Owner, Administrator or Manager can use Correct the count in the Shift history. Both counts stay visible.
What is blind counting?
An option in Settings → Cash register that hides the expected amount until the count is submitted, so whoever closes counts without seeing the figure.
Yesterday’s cash register was left open. What do I do?
Today warns you with The cash register was left open. Tap Close the cash register and count it before opening today’s shift.
