In MAYEL, money is never erased. Cancelling, voiding and refunding all leave a record of who did it, when and why.
Cancel a sale
Use it to fix a mistake: a sale that was duplicated, entered wrong or never happened.
1In Sales, open the sale and tap Cancel the sale.
2Read the warning: if the sale has payments, they’re cancelled too.
3Choose Why is it being cancelled? and write a Comment (required if you choose Other).
4Tap Cancel the sale.
The sale stops counting toward the totals, stays in the history with its reason, and the products sold go back into inventory.
Correct a payment
Void the payment: for a payment recorded by mistake. The payment stops counting and the charge goes back to what was owed.
Refund: gives the full payment back to the customer. It can’t be undone.
Edit the payment: corrects the amount, method or date; the original is voided and stays visible.
These options are in each payment’s menu, under the customer’s Charges and payments.
Who can cancel or refund?
Cancelling a sale and refunding: the Owner, Administrator and Manager. Front desk can void a payment recorded by mistake.
Why won’t it let me cancel a sale?
If one of its payments also settled other sales, first void that payment from the customer’s charges, then cancel the sale.
