Alternative to WhatsApp and a notebook for your business
Many clinics, spas and aesthetic centres do not come to Mayel from another system: they come from WhatsApp, a paper planner and a spreadsheet. That way of working costs nothing to start and takes you a long way. Here is where it starts to cost you, and what Mayel does instead.
Why clinics compare Mayel with WhatsApp and a notebook
It usually starts well: bookings arrive on WhatsApp, the planner sits at the front desk and a spreadsheet adds up the month. With a few customers a week, it works.
It stops working little by little. A message sent at night is answered the next morning, when she may already have booked somewhere else. Her allergy is written in the notebook, not in the treatment room. How many sessions are left on her package depends on who remembers. And the day closes with a calculator, hoping the drawer matches.
Mayel puts all of that in one place: your own booking page open 24/7, her record with allergies and consents, packages that count themselves down, stock that goes down with each session and a closing that compares what you expected with what you counted. You keep talking to your customers on WhatsApp as you do today.
Mayel and WhatsApp and a notebook, point by point
The same day of work, done with WhatsApp, a notebook and a spreadsheet, and done in Mayel.
Topic
In WhatsApp and a notebook
In Mayel
A booking at 11 at night
The message waits until someone reads it, and the answer goes back and forth until a time fits.
Your own page takes bookings 24/7 during the hours you open. She gets an email confirmation and the appointment is already in your schedule.
Allergies and consents
In the notebook, in a chat or in someone’s memory, and rarely at hand once she is on the treatment bed.
In Pro: allergies at the top of her record, and consents signed before the treatment that needs them.
Session packages
Sessions counted from memory or crossed off on a card, until two people remember different numbers.
In Pro: each session she uses is taken off her package on its own.
Products and stock
You find out a product has run out when you open the drawer to use it.
In both plans; what each treatment uses is deducted when the session ends, with an alert at the minimum you set.
Cash closing
The day added up by hand in the notebook or a spreadsheet, hoping it matches what is in the drawer.
Each payment is recorded with its method, and the closing compares what you expected with what you counted.
Commissions
Worked out in Excel at the end of the fortnight, sale by sale.
In both plans, computed from each sale and session.
Customers who stop coming
Nobody notices until months later, if at all.
A digital card that counts her visits after the first one. In Pro, when she is due to return, Mayel leaves you a follow-up and measures how many customers you recover.
Gift cards
A handwritten note or a screenshot, and someone has to remember whether it was used.
In both plans; the amount becomes credit for the customer.
Price
No subscription. The cost is the time spent answering, counting and adding up, and the bookings that slip away.
Esencial $699 (up to 3 specialists) and Pro $1,199 (5 included) MXN a month, IVA included.

Who should switch, and who should not
Changing systems costs time. It is only worth it if what you gain is something you use every day.
Mayel suits you better if
You answer booking messages between one treatment and the next, or late at night.
Your team asks you how many sessions a customer has left, or which product irritated her.
Closing the day or paying commissions means an hour with a calculator or a spreadsheet.
More than one person takes appointments, and the notebook is never where it is needed.
Stay with WhatsApp and a notebook if
You see a handful of customers a week and remember every one of them: a notebook may be enough.
You want the system to send WhatsApp messages or reminders for you: Mayel does not, so you would keep writing them yourself.
You ask for a deposit when someone books online: Mayel does not take payments online.
You run branches outside Mexico: Mayel is made for Mexican businesses.
How to move to Mayel
You can keep WhatsApp and a notebook running while you try Mayel, and switch over once the trial convinces you.
Create your account. You get 21 days of MAYEL Pro with everything in it, without a card.
Bring your customers from a spreadsheet: download the template, fill in name and phone (email, birthday and address are optional) and upload it. Nothing is saved until the whole file is right, and a phone that already exists is reported instead of duplicated. Read the import guide
Load your treatments with their price and duration, your rooms and your team, and say what product each treatment uses.
Run a few real days in Mayel. When the trial ends, choose Esencial or Pro, or nothing at all.
What it costs
Try MAYEL Pro free for 21 days, without a card. Then Esencial costs $699 and Pro $1,199 MXN a month, IVA included, charged by the specialists who take visits rather than by user.
Frequently asked questions
My customers are in WhatsApp and a notebook. Do I have to type them in one by one?
No. Copy them into Mayel’s template (name and phone are required; email, birthday and address are optional) and upload it as .xlsx, up to 1,000 rows per file. If you already keep them in Excel, it is mostly copy and paste. Nothing is saved until the file is right, and a phone that already exists is reported instead of duplicated.
Can I keep talking to my customers on WhatsApp?
Yes. Mayel does not send WhatsApp messages: you keep talking to your customers as you do today, and you share the link to your booking page so they can book on their own at any hour.
Is a system worth paying for when a notebook costs nothing?
It depends on how much time the notebook takes from you, and how many bookings, sessions or sales slip through it. Esencial costs $699 and Pro $1,199 MXN a month, IVA included. Try Pro free for 21 days without a card and judge it with your own customers.
